REELBiz: Videos for Colorado BETR Project

Reel_BizA Michael Conti Video Production was awarded a REELBiz contract with Workforce Boulder County in the August 2009 to shoot and edit over 18 videos highlighting some of Boulder County’s larger employers.

The focus of these ten minute videos is supporting the Colorado BETR Project a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Math) Business and Education collaboration effort created to facilitate the promotion of STEM education and practices into meeting Colorado’s need for homegrown applicants to workforce careers.  Additional support for this project comes from Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.  Their intended audience is K-12 along with current job seekers to the Colorado BETR Project website.

Generally using a two hour window at each company, A Michael Conti Video Production would arrive to setup and light a location for conducting the 3-4 interviews that would commence over the first hour.  The second hour would involve capturing additional B-Roll footage which was used in editing to help create a flow between the interviews and establish material for the opening scene.

Each video highlights through interviews and location footage how employees perceive their job,  how skills in science, technology, engineer, math impact their work day; what inspired them to go further, and finally what a typical day is like on the job.

Here is the list of companies involved in Boulder County.  The links are active on the Colorado BETR Project website as well as the Workforce Boulder website. For more a higher quality presentation of these same videos, visit WFBC on Vimeo.

The Future of Video is Now: Streaming Video Advertising

A Michael Conti Production has been busy shooting internet ads for one of the national online phonebook companies–YELLOWBOOK.

As they say: Who better to describe your business to potential customers than you?

A video ad online is a high impact way to speak to your customers and stand out from traditional online directory ads. Video ads provide you the opportunity to reach out to potential customers who are ready to buy, giving them a chance to see, hear and experience your business before calling or stepping out to make a purchase.

Here are recent spots that A Michael Conti Production shot.  All the videography was done by Michael Conti whereas the editing was completed by Pixel Fish in Torrance, California.

Video ROI Is Much Stronger Than Yellow Pages

“A number of years ago we’d spend 1 dollar [on Yellow Pages] and we’d probably get a 4 to 5 dollar return on that.  And then, over the course of the last several years, Yellow Pages, with the advent of internet advertising, has taken a back seat.  And now, if we spend 1 dollar, we probably only get a $1.25 return.  So, the return on investment that you hear about, is just not there like it used to be. Well, we have obviously moved our dollars into internet marketing and the Web site, and for that, we have been seeing 3 to 4 dollars for every 1 dollar.

Now here is the good news: for the last couple of months that we had video up, we have seen a 6 or 7 times return, per month, on what we are spending for the cost of the video versus the amount that is coming in.  Online video is certainly the vanguard here and it is something that the dollars are backing it up, for what you spend and what you getting in return as well.”

Storage Markets uses video to showcase market services

Rich Pappas and John Ives of Storage Markets contracted with A Michael Conti Video Production in October 2006 to produce a quarterly vblog that would highlight their predictive market services.

By using a green screen in which the actress could be placed in front of, the costs for shooting on location was greatly reduced. All the background plates were added in post production along with the motion graphics and charts. Katharyn Grant, a Denver-based talent, provided the expertise for the presentation.

A Michael Conti Productions hosted the vblogs on a Flash Server for the best quality presentation, and to insure that there were enough streams for the 1000 plus views that occurred quarterly to their separate hosted site.

Founded in 2006, Storage Markets is at the forefront of providing predictive market services to the technology industry and beyond. Storage Markets is headquartered in Boulder, CO. For more information, please go to
