REELBiz: Videos for Colorado BETR Project
A Michael Conti Video Production was awarded a REELBiz contract with Workforce Boulder County in the August 2009 to shoot and edit over 18 videos highlighting some of Boulder County’s larger employers.
The focus of these ten minute videos is supporting the Colorado BETR Project a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Math) Business and Education collaboration effort created to facilitate the promotion of STEM education and practices into meeting Colorado’s need for homegrown applicants to workforce careers. Additional support for this project comes from Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Their intended audience is K-12 along with current job seekers to the Colorado BETR Project website.
Generally using a two hour window at each company, A Michael Conti Video Production would arrive to setup and light a location for conducting the 3-4 interviews that would commence over the first hour. The second hour would involve capturing additional B-Roll footage which was used in editing to help create a flow between the interviews and establish material for the opening scene.
Each video highlights through interviews and location footage how employees perceive their job, how skills in science, technology, engineer, math impact their work day; what inspired them to go further, and finally what a typical day is like on the job.
Here is the list of companies involved in Boulder County. The links are active on the Colorado BETR Project website as well as the Workforce Boulder website. For more a higher quality presentation of these same videos, visit WFBC on Vimeo.
