Cost Effective Impactful Online Video Produced

A Michael Conti Production was recently contracted by BODA Weight Loss Products to shoot two marketing videos which would be presented on their respective websites.  The Client brought both the script and the talent to the early morning shoot, and A Michael Conti Production brought their expertise to the game.

Instead of the traditional locked off camera shot, the Client wanted a shot that was a bit more dynamic and shared an example from SunPop Studios in which the camera was very active but controlled on the end of a small crane on a sound stage. Unfortunately, this approach would have been problematic due to the outside location and the budget, but taking the same clever principal of movement of the frame around the subject, A Michael Conti Production was able to create a fascimile.

Within 2 hours, the video was shot and in the can for editing.  By the end of the day, the Client was reviewing the first cut of the edit online, and shortly afterwards, it was ready to be presented online.  Here is the final version:

While this quick approach might not be appropriate for all Clients, in this case, it was necessary from the presented budget.  Our goal at A Michael Conti Production is to get the work done in the most cost effective and professional manner based upon the Client's needs.

See the video in its placement on the BODA website.

The Future of Video is Now: Streaming Video Advertising

A Michael Conti Production has been busy shooting internet ads for one of the national online phonebook companies.

As they say: Who better to describe your business to potential customers than you?
A video ad online is a high impact way to speak to your customers and stand out from traditional online directory ads. Video ads provide you the opportunity to reach out to potential customers who are ready to buy, giving them a chance to see, hear and experience your business before calling or stepping out to make a purchase.

Here are recent spots that A Michael Conti Production shot.  All the videography was done by Michael Conti whereas the editing was completed by Pixel Fish in Torrance, California.

Impact Awards - Nominees Video Profiles

A Michael Conti Video Productions completed 5 video profiles on the Boulder Valley School Educators nominated for the Impact Awards and awarded at the Glenn Miller Ballroom on the University of Colorado Campus on Thursday, April 17 2008. At the end of the evening, there was not a dry eye in the house.

The videotaping of each nominate required an intimate interview with educator at their school. Our goal was to capture the affirming story behind why the educator was nominated, and who inspired them to their path. These interviews were supplemented with additional footage of students at work and play, supporting interviews from parents, staff and students. The end result was about an hour of content for each nominee which was then edited down to a four minute piece that was shown at the awards ceremony prior to each acceptance speech.

A Michael Conti Video Productions is honored to be part of the event and to have the opportunity to spend time with each of the nominees in the process of making this video.

Now its 17th year, Impact on Education, a community partnership with Boulder Valley Schools recognizes educational excellence by providing a visible forum and awards to individuals who make extraordinary contributions to public education. The 2008 Impact on Education award recipients are: Leticia de Lozano, Spanish Teacher, Boulder High School; Michele Hibl, Fifth-Grade Teacher, Coal Creek Elementary School; Larry Orobona, Principal, Heatherwood Elementary School; Al Real, Science Teacher, Nederland Middle/Senior High School; Barb Steiner, Fifth-Grade Teacher, Bear Creek Elementary School.

The videos will be combined together into a longer format program including additional material shot and edited by Alan O'Hashi of Boulder Community Media (BCM) is a non-profit organization with which the City of Boulder has contracted to provide public and educational access television services. In 2007, BCM launched Boulder Valley Educational Television channel 22 (BVET channel 22).

The voice-over on the opening video was provided by Katharyn Grant, a Denver-based Actress and voice-over talent.

Video on “What’s TechStars like?”

A Michael Conti Video Productions was contacted by David G. Cohen, the founder and Exective Director of TechStars, which runs a program founded by a collective of Colorado-based entrepreneurs as a way of promoting entrepreneurial activity in their home state. Ten start-ups receive up to $15,000 in seed funding for their new company, plus the chance to pitch to angel investors and venture capitalists at the end of the summer.

David wanted to answer one of the most common questions they get at TechStars which is simply “What’s it like?” A Michael Conti Video Productions was responsible for the filming and editing of that video.

All the filming took place over 6 hours at the TechStar's offices in Boulder, Colorado. Each interview with a founder lasted no more then 20 minutes with the final goal consisting of a 3 minute video. By bouncing a small kit of lights off the surrounding walls, Michael was able to use the colorful environment in a variety of setups while maintaining a natural look. David didn't want the video to feel too polished and was looking for a more documentary feel as opposed to a commercial or marketing look. David's line of questions helped drive the story of "what's it like?" Additional shots were inserted from material that had been shot the previous summer.

TechStars is now accepting applications for Summer, 2008. The application deadline is March 31, 2008.
